Starting Catering Business

Starting a catering business can be very profitable.  Everyone loves sweet treats and desserts so your services are always in demand.  Since you have a popular product the next thing you need to do is make your merchandise stick out above the rest.  Consider making unique shapes with your dessert.  Make a trademark design that will be easily identifiable.

Look into other catering business prices and try to either have similar or lower fees.  Since no one knows about your business in the beginning it’s a good idea to offer free samples to draw in more clients to your company.  You can also pass out coupons or attach savings vouchers to the flyers you hand out.  Offer to cater at small functions in your area for free or at a low cost to build more exposure. You may have to front some of the money, but in the long run you will be gaining more customers.

You can also contact your local television station and see if they advertise for small businesses.  You may be able to get a live interview to showcase your catering business.  Have a catchy title for your business so that people can remember you easier.  Rhyming titles are best because they stick in you mind.  If you have extra money to promote your company you could use the finances to make trademark t-shirts, magnets, and calendars for your customers.  If you have a contest box set up at your store you can give away merchandise to your weekly winner.  This will attract more customers and also give you advertising for your company.
