Despite the ever-increasing use of technology in business, and instant communication in both our personal and professional lives, many businesses still send out holiday cards to wish their customers good cheer – and remind these customers about their business.

A business holiday card can take many forms.  Some businesses send an electronic holiday card to their customers’ email addresses.  Other businesses choose a more traditional approach and send a printed, personalized holiday card via the post office.  These holiday cards may simply wish customers well, accompany a gift or notify customers that a charitable donation has been made by the business in their customers’ name.

When starting a business or changing jobs, a holiday card can be a useful business tool to either announce your new endeavor or remind people of its existence regardless of the type or medium of the card chosen.

There are many virtual and brick-and-mortar stores which offer great deals on all sorts of business appropriate holiday cards.  With so many choices and so much completion in every field, it is important to get input from colleagues before deciding on a holiday card so that all employees are comfortable sending out the chosen greeting card.

With the economy sinking and the pressure to run a green business rising, more and more businesses are foregoing the traditional holiday card and sending electronic versions instead.  Regardless of the medium you choose, remember that a business holiday card is never just for sending a message of good cheer – it is one of the business tools in your toolbox and as such should be chosen carefully.
